HAJIME MATSUDA M.D.1, GORO TAKAI M.D.1, YASUYUKI INUI Ph.D.2, and KAORU NINOMIYA 1

1 From the Department of Radiology, Center for Adult Diseases, Osaka, Japan
2 The Radiation Apparatus Production Department, Radiation Apparatus Division, Shimazu Seisakusho Ltd., Kyoto, Japan

1. As regards the accuracy of X-ray diagnosis of the stomach and duodenum, there is no significant statistical difference between the remotely controlled X-ray television installation and the conventional fluoroscopic unit.

2. Memomotion studies of the movements of radiologists, radiographers, nurses, and patients in X-ray examination rooms demonstrate clearly that the use of the remotely controlled X-ray television installation reduces the exertional effort during X-ray examination of the stomach and duodenum as compared to the use of the conventional fluoroscopic device.
