One hundred consecutive thyroid rectilinear scans and scintiphotos were obtained. The two modalities of imaging were compared and evaluated.
The Gamma camera was found to produce superior images in a fraction of the time required for a rectilinear scanning.
The triple lens Polaroid camera produced images of extremes in density, thus amplifying defects and/or differences in uptake within the thyroid gland.
