1 From the Department of Radiology, St. Radboud Hospital, University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands
A case report is presented of a 42 year old woman (gravida XI; para x) showing the clinical features of an abdominal arteriovenous fistula. The roentgenologic findings were typical of a cirsoid aneurysm of the uterus. This abnormality is very rare; only 7 cases have been described since 1926. The physical findings are sufficiently characteristic to suggest the correct diagnosis before operation.
The diagnosis can be definitely established by abdominal arteriography. There has been no precedent of an arteriographic examination in a case of this type.
