1 From the Department of Radiology and the Department of Otology, Gentofte Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark
The roentgenographic findings in the attic and antrum in 98 cases of surgically confirmed cholesteatoma are discussed. Tomography was found to be the best method of demonstrating this lesion.
Cholesteatomas were correctly diagnosed or suspected in 94 per cent of the cases in the present series.
It is recommended that tomography be used in all cases of chronic otitis, where there is a clinical suspicion of cholesteatoma.
