Chest roentgenograms of 200 patients who sustained blunt trauma to the chest were reviewed.
The pulmonar roentgen findings consisted of edema and congestion, atelectasis, patchy, hemorrhagic infiltration, formation of traumatic lung cavities, and intrapulmonary hematomas.
The importance of serial follow-up roentgenognaphic studies of the chest is stressed.
